Day 36

Some things I've learned about France so far:

If you are cold from walking aimlessly around, hop on the first bus you see. It will keep you warm and they usually always stop at important/famous spots so it's a cheap way to get warm and discover a new part of the city. Honestly, Paris is not that big and it's hard to get truly lost.

If you've managed to find something cheap to eat but have nowhere to eat it and don't want to say goodbye to your friends just yet, chill at the metro. It's free and warm and we weren't the only ones doing it, so I guess it's acceptable. However, you might get solicited for sex. A guy came up to my friend and I and started talking to us. He asked where we were from and how we were doing. He then tells us he's lonely for the night and asked if we were interested in going with him and spending the night. He did not even act awkward, nervous or anything. It seriously felt like he was asking us for simple directions or the time. We obviously said no and he walked away like nothing strange occurred.

The metro stops running on saturdays at 2am and at 12:30am every other night. I really miss NYC's 24/7 system.

I didn't sit around thinking of this I just happened to notice, some ways I might die in Paris:
-Hit by a car because they come from places you don't even realize were streets
-A hit to the head from the low ceiling in my attic rooms. I've lost count
-Suffocating in my bedroom because it's actually boiling hot in there. I woke up drenched in sweat one night. It was so bad my first thought someone had come to my room during the night and thrown a bucket of water at me.
